Saskatoon police seize 3D printer, manufactured gun parts

Officers saw suspicious items when they were called to the house on Avenue U South for a domestic disturbance, later got a search warrant.

A man and a woman face several weapons charges after Saskatoon police, responding to a domestic disturbance call, saw “items consistent with the manufacturing of weapons” in the home.

A police media release issued Tuesday said officers were called to a house in the 100 block of Avenue U South around 9:30 a.m. on July 24 for a domestic disturbance in progress and saw the “items,” which led to a subsequent search warrant.

Police said they seized a 3D printer, several manufactured firearm parts, pepper spray and various electronic devices.

A 25-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman are charged with manufacturing a firearm, careless storage of a firearm, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace, possession of a weapon without a licence, and possession of a weapon while prohibited.

The woman was also charged with resisting arrest and failing to comply with court-imposed conditions.
